Event Recap: Level Up Continuus Retreat 2023

  • October 10, 2023

A couple weeks ago, we held the 2nd annual Continuus Company Retreat! We welcomed our friends and colleagues from all over the United States back to Milwaukee for another short but sweet team-building event.

Continuus Cares

To kick off our Retreat on Thursday afternoon, our Continuus Cares committee organized a volunteering event serving Street Angels. Street Angels is a mobile outreach organization that assists our neighbors without homes bridge the gaps between homelessness and housing through support, advocacy, and community collaboration. With so many hands on deck, we were able to make 200 bag lunches for our community members in less than an hour. We're grateful to Street Angels for the work they do, our team for their willingness to donate and participate, and our company for supporting Continuus Cares and our committee's mission to give back.

Level Up

The 2023 Retreat was about leveling up personal and professional skills. This year, we have been placing a large focus on increasing our expertise with cutting-edge data tools and technologies through training, certifications, and extended learning opportunities. We have also been continuing our emphasis on developing our soft skills; how can we be better at actively listening to the client, identifying opportunities to help move their business forward, communicating effectively, and providing thought leadership internal teams? Our Retreat programming included presentations from our board of directors on their view of the industry and how we can continue growing into it. It also featured a segment from a Snowflake representative on how we can work with our partners to best serve our clients. A highlight of the day was our panel, which included an impressive lineup of folks in the FinServ and data space who shared their insight on data strategy and governance, working with consultants, where they see the industry moving, and how consultants can work with internal teams to meet their strategic business goals.

We also held our internal quarterly meeting and a Live CT What's Up, which is simply the in-person extended version of the open format CT What's Up we hold every two weeks where employees can give shoutouts to their peers and ask questions of leadership. It supports our value of candor and transparency, and it was a great way to wrap up our day before heading to our closing party.
